Audi Q3 Sales Trend Upwards

2016 Audi Q3

The Audi Q3 is a small crossover designed for the United States amid a blazing hot upward sales trend for the crossover segment. This luxury crossover has been a bit of an oddball for its two years on the market with just half of its largest competitor’s sales. Now Audi Q3 sales are on the rise, and this luxury crossover is set to take on its closest competitors sooner rather than later.

The Audi Q3 moved just 13,229 units last year, which is around half of the Mercedes-Benz GLA, the Q3’s competition. This year, the Audi Q3’s sales have completely turned around.

The Q3’s sales through August hit 12,525, nearly a 50% increase from the same time in 2015. Monthly sales peaked with a record 2,238 units sold in August 2016 alone. That decimates the previous record of 1,800 units sold that the crossover set in July.

More importantly, Audi Q3 sales doubled the GLA’s August sales. The dramatic increase in sales is due to larger outputs from plants around the world. Upon release, the dealerships were limited on the amount of available Audi Q3s.

Audi’s closest competition also posted decreases in total sales while Audi gained a whopping 3.5% in the same period. The company owes the growth largely to the Q3 and the Q7, the Q3’s larger sibling.

We at Gossett Audi hope to see the Audi Q3’s sales trend continue!
